Since 1995
Our founder, Gerry Dunlevy has been a skilled sign maker and sign artist since 1989. He worked for various sign companies making shop fascias, vehicle livery, traditional pub signs and reflective road traffic signs.
In June 1995 he set up his own House Sign Studio when his wife Julie came up with the brilliant idea of making reflective house signs after a complaint from their Doctor who was making a making a house call that their existing House Name Sign could not be seen from the road in the dark.. - Click here to read his full story.
Originally trading as a small family business called 'Ornamental Signs' based in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, UK we have been selling our reflective house signs online since 1998 from our two main websites www.yoursigns.com and www.yoursigns.co.uk. The business was incorporated to Yoursigns Ltd in 2005.
Since 1995, we have manufactured tens of thousands of reflective house name and house number plates from two smaller House Sign Studios located in Newport on the Isle of Wight and Canterbury in Kent. Since February 2008 we manufacture all house signs entirely at our larger 1000sq ft house sign studio in Sandown, Isle of Wight, UK.

Our dedicated team of sign makers & sign artists have produced thousands of reflective house number & name signs over the years. Originally sold through Craft Fairs, Garden Centres & Hardware stores, since March 1998 we have been offering our range of house signs direct to the public via the Internet at an average saving of 25% compared with previous shop prices and on-line sales are now our major source of orders.

Close to 20% of all our Internet orders are shipped overseas - so to be sure that our signs will last in all climates worldwide, we make our base plaques from reconstituted slate, which is a mix of polymer resin and powdered slate. Once cured, reconstituted slate is much tougher than normal slate but it has all the weather resistance properties of the inert mineral slate - so they wont crack, warp, pit or rust over time like house signs made from other materials.
Depending on the range, the base plaques are coated with modern U.V. resistant polymer paints, weather proof gold paint and hand painted with fade proof enamels to ensure the plaques are able to shrug off any kind of weather worldwide and still look good after many years with no need of maintenance.

We know it can be difficult to visualize what a house sign will look like with all the different combinations of colours, fonts and text layouts we offer. Therefore we create a free mock-up visual of the house sign for you to approve before we go ahead and make it. - Our Visuals Team create a scaled mock-up of the text & numbers laid out on an image of your chosen house plaque then send it to you by email. At this stage you can ask for any alterations to the layout if required or 'OK' the visual. - This way you can be sure you get exactly the house sign you want.
Please Note: The free mock-up visuals are created AFTER an order is placed and NOT BEFORE - We get hundreds of visitors to this website every day and simply don't have the time to make free mock-up visuals for every visitor. Website visitors can order a mock-up visual for only £5 GBP which will be fully refunded against the cost of the house sign when an order is placed.

Our house signs are packaged with care to avoid damage in transit. - We try to keep environmental impact of our packaging to a minimum. We use recyclable cardboard boxes and biodegradable void fillers in our packaging.
